They wished for their Stanford and Chicago-educated daughter, Lydia, to develop the site into a hotel and manage both properties. Lydia would never have the chance. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1990 and fell into a coma in 1993. While keeping a watchful eye over their daughter in Singapore, Mr. Huang himself became very ill. Mrs. Huang sent her husband home to rest in Perth while she cared for Lydia in the United States. Mr. Huang died of cancer in 1993, just three years before Lydia lost her battle with brain cancer in 1996 at the age of 38. After two years of mourning, the devastated Mrs. Huang set out to make her husband and daughter’s dreams come to fruition. She develop the brand new Eco-Friendly LEED Orchard Hotels on Bush Street in memory of her family.Meet the Manager
